Positive trend for production and export of Italian metalworking in 2015 and 2016

The study department of ANIMA (Federation of national metalworking industries) has registered a positive trend for Italian industries in the field of metalworking. The growth involves production, exportation and investments.

During the last year, the Italian mechanical industries produced technologies and parts for 44 bilion Euros, scoring a +1.3% against the 2014 and, for 2016, the estimated growth will be another +0.7%.

The exportations has registered a big increase in 2015, scoring a +1.3% and aiming to reach +1.4% in 2016, for a overall amount of 26.1 bilion euros.

 

The CEO of ANIMA, Alberto Caprari, said: “Even if this could seems ‘not much glamour’, the metalworking sector exports more than food, fashion and desing industries all together. The key that unlock the foreign doors for Italian metalworking is the quality and the flexibility of our industries, sided by the regard of our technologies.”

During the press conference, the need of a more relevant fight angainst counterfeit has been underlined, for the preservation of made in Italy mechanical parts, compared to other “international players” that not always are “in step with the rules”.

Moreover, driven by the concomitance with the Paris COP 21, Caprari talked about the importance of innovation, energy efficiency and usage of renovable sources as keys for the success of the entire Italian metalworking industry, today and in the future.
